A friend of ours had some ultra-delicious pictures of vegan pizzas in his Facebook page (heads up, Janne N!), and we felt like tasting a bit of the unhealthy yet tasty vegan goodness he had made. Then again, if you’re already vegan, you’re prolly spending more time on thinking what you eat than an average person.
Anyhow, here’s a selection of four different pizzas inspired by a few pictures from a social networking service, feel free to try them for your lazy Saturday – I have a feeling they will be just as tasty for a possible non-vegan audience as well.
Top left: tomato sauce, pineapple, bell pepper, onion and sun dried tomatoes.
Top right: tomato sauce, seitan, olives, basil and “cheese” made of oat cream, soy flour, salt, herbs and turmeric
Bottom left: tomato sauce, textured soy protein, pickles and “cheese” made of oat cream, nooch, salt, pepper and turmeric
Bottom right: tomato sauce, smoked tofu, basil and oregano.
Marinade for seitan:
1 ball of basic seitan.
3 tbsp oil
3 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
pinch of salt and pepper
Cut seitan into strips. Mix everything together and marinade seitan in it for an hour or two.
